Guy Zacconi
"The world would be a better place if there were more like you."

OBITUARY OF GUY ZACCONI

Rosalie Zacconi Malonson sent the following obituary of her brother Guy.

Guy Zacconi was born Nov. 30, 1935 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the second youngest of 10 children born to Gaetano and Feni Zaccone, immigrants from Italy. (Guy chose to spell his last name with an i as did my sister and other brother Tony, while the rest of us spelled it with an e)

Guy grew up on Albion Ave., graduated from SHS class of 1954, and worked at the First National Store. He joined the Air Force with his friend Wayne Luppi in April of 1955, was stationed in Illinois and Germany.

When he returned in 1959 he worked as an Electronics Technician for RCA, ITT, and for the Mass.Turnpike Authority. While at the Turnpike, he befriended Carol, a Toll Collector. They spent many weekends going to Atlantic City in NJ, Jai Lai in RI, Foxwoods in CT., and Wonderland Race Track in Revere. He also worked at the U.S.Postal distribution center in No.Reading.

Guy was a bachelor. He was plagued for many years with Manic Depression. He found a good doctor at the VA hospital who helped him with the right medication. He also had problems with his eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, watering. He moved into the Senior Housing in Woburn. He loved walking around Horn Pond and stopping at Duncan Donuts for coffee and social hour. On May 21, 2018 he was found on the floor of his apartment, apparently he had fallen, hit his head and died. He was 82 years old.
